her condition remained poor even under the fretting eyes of her parents, but she regained consciousness nearly a week later, a bit miffed but no worse for wear. at this time, she stood up, gathered her bow and draped herself in furs, and announced that she was going hunting and would not return for a while.
her parents were so stunned by her recovery that they hardly thought to stop her: they saw her disappear into the snow, flanked by a pair of wolves. she came back upwards of a month later, bearing more trophies of beasts and svanir than she could carry.
at the feast her parents had organized to celebrate her safe, and indeed triumphant, return, bel made two surprising announcements: one, that she'd taken wolf as her totem, and two, that she was going to leave home to join the priory. the first was met with cheering, the second, with refusal--she was, after all, still far too young. however, the night still ended with the beginning of her legend.
bel joined the priory at age 17, far younger than any of her norn contemporaries, after a stellar preformance at the great hunt. what she lacked in years, she made up in size (she towered over her classmates) and dedication for her studies. her parents were surprised by accounts of her drive, something she was lacking of as a child.
she published several papers on anthropology and culture which were celebrated for the impartial, yet piercing, stances they made. bel, lauded for her work, quickly ascended the ranks as an explorer till achieving the honorable rank of magister at age 32.
bel continued her research and her adventuring til she was 63 years old, at which point she took the position of commander in the newly-formed pact. this was what wolf had instructed her to do during that fateful hunt in her youth. from there, she helped bring down the elder dragon zhaitan.
